I've officially closed my sportsbook accounts. Congrats for me?

Had a rough one this weekend and just need to unload. Been in the gambling scene since my teens, starting with scratch-offs and friendly sports bets. Over time, it escalated, hitting up local poker spots once I hit 18. The stakes grew, and so did the wins, but it was never enough. Ended up chasing bets hard this weekend. Today, I took the plunge and shut down all my accounts, from DraftKings to FanDuel to BetMGM. Can't trust myself anymore. Love sports, but this has got to stop. Time to rebuild and save up. Still hanging around here though; always been good with numbers. Maybe my picks will finally start hitting! Good luck, everyone. That's my spiel.
 
I do what I call "hit and run." I take advantage of promo bets, like the 25% deposit bonus. I lost a lot during the NCAA Tournament, but I made it all back with future bets on Connecticut. Now, I'm hoping to do the same with the Orioles. As soon as I can get odds of 20-1 or better for them to win the World Series, I'm in.

Feeling the same here! Looks like I'll be taking a break from gambling for a while.
 
My recent loss pushed me over the edge. Plus, I just moved to a state where gambling is only allowed on tribal lands, and the nearest one is a 25-minute drive away, which feels like too much hassle. So I am with you! I made the same decision. Good luck to both of us!
 
It's never too late to learn live sports trading and move away from traditional bookmakers. While the house always comes out on top with bookies, exchanges only charge a small commission.
 
I did the same thing this week, buddy. This stuff is just too addictive and not good for your mental health. My girlfriend was really pleased when I finally stopped, after struggling with my "breaks." It's crazy how much money you can waste in such a silly way.
 
Closing accounts doesn't help. I stopped myself from playing. It was the best decision I made, even though I won a lot, there were times I lost a lot too. In the end, I just about broke even. Many people can't admit they lose
 
When I started betting, I lost a lot. I was betting on almost every sport. It took me YEARS to learn to only focus on certain sports and never try to make up for losses. It takes a LOT of discipline, and many people don't have it. If you don't have it, it's better not to try because it won't end well. Sometimes I'll go weeks without placing a bet. You have to be selective. How do you know if you're doing well? The bookmakers will let you know. They'll start limiting your bets. If they're not limiting you, you're not winning, haha.
 
You're making a great decision for yourself and your future. It's really tough for people to know when to stop. No, the next bet won't make everything better, and you're not a quitter. Good luck with saving money. Don't look back!
 
I closed my accounts too. I haven't lost much, but with more and more sites popping up, it seems like they're not losing. The house always has the upper hand. Keep your money and enjoy life.
